A renowned director and Dadasaheb-Phalke Award winner Kasinadhuni Viswanath passed away in the year 92 at around midnight on Thursday.
He passed away at a private medical facility here. The filmmaker was unwell for a while in the past and suffered from issues related to age as per an agency called PTI.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed his condolences for the loss of Viswanath the release from the Office of the Chief Minister read.
"Viswanath was a remarkable director of films who took an ordinary tale and transformed his vision into a timeless film on the silver screen thanks to his extraordinary ability."
In a tweet, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed his sorrow over the passing of the film director.
"Vishwanath is a mirror for Telugu tradition as well as Indian arts. His films have earned him the respect of his Telugu cinema industry.
Popularly referred to as "Kalatapasvi," Viswanath is born the month of February at Andhra Pradesh. An enthralling name that is not just in Telugu film but also as a character in Tamil as well. Hindi films.
He was the 48th recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award which is the most prestigious award in Indian film. He was awarded the award for the year 2016.
His other awards are Padma Shri in 1992, five National Awards, 20 Nandi Awards (given by the Andhra Pradesh government), and 10 Filmfare awards, which include the Lifetime Achievement Award.
